Howzit Hostels Hawaii Hilo, Hilo

I had a mixed experience at the hostel. The location was fantastic, right in the center of downtown Hilo, and the bottom bunks were surprisingly spacious. Unfortunately, issues like the lack of working toilets and the termite infestation overshadowed the positives. The Wi-Fi was spotty too, which was frustrating.

This hostel has its ups and downs. While it’s located right in the heart of downtown Hilo, the building shows its age, and I faced some unfortunate issues during my stay. The management's welcoming attitude was a bright spot, but the facilities need serious improvement, especially regarding cleanliness and functionality. Overall, it was a mixed experience with some positives but quite a few negatives.

I had a great experience during my stay! The location is just a couple of minutes from the ocean, making it perfect for beach lovers. The rooms were very clean, and the atmosphere was unique and welcoming. However, I did encounter some issues with the bathroom facilities and pests during my visit. Overall, it was a charming hostel with friendly fellow travelers, but some updates are certainly needed.

While this place has a bed and hot water, the overall cleanliness leaves a lot to be desired. The location in Hilo is convenient for access to shops and the bay, but be prepared for some unpleasant odors and a general lack of upkeep. It's an affordable option, but don't expect a luxurious stay.
